Just small things that niggle you occasionally, they aren't especially
important, and don't kill the game or anything, but this might just be
the thread for minor bugs that aren't mentioned elsewhere, bugs like
the grapple bug, or if it hadn't been brought up already, the no count
ma bug. I wouldn't
expect anyone to fix every single one of them but I just thought it
might be an idea to list them ^^
Just randomly thinking on this I came up with:
1: Weapons occasionally just don't fire (I would guess that this is linked to lag)
2: Clipping through the flag at high speeds, only happens occasionally
but when it does it drives me insane, it can be down to a high ping,
but sometimes with 40 ping I will just warp right through the flag, and
yes watching the demos played back, some of them are just close misses,
but there are definite moments when I have just gone straight through
the flag
3: In demo playback a weapon will sometimes fire as normal, but without the kickback or reload animation
4: Has only happened once or twice, but when switching weapons I have
been able to fire before I should have been able to, immediately after
the switch between one weap and another.
5: AOE (Area Of Effect) weapons being totally nullified by a small
hillock, this is especially prevalent with the mortar, but even the
slightest rise between a player and a blast will manage to completely
passify any blast's damage, and I know some of the time it makes sense,
as they are diving behind a big rock or something, but a lot of the
time, a tiny gradient can make all the difference between life and
death. I hesitate to mention realism near tribes players, as let's face
it, we spend our free time wizzing around with jetpacks and
frictionless boots ^^

This has happened to us twice in matches/scrims. Where we cant grab the flag for awhile.
Sometimes u dont notice for a minute (like warhawk with his crappy conn...hehe). Thinks he just missed the flag.
Which obviously isnt possible...we are talking about Warhawk...hehe

actually different from the bug I ment, but a good one to point out all
the same, it is exceedingly rare, but occasioanlly a flag will just
seem to freeze on it's stand and be unable to be picked up by anyone,
while that flag's team is still able to cap the other teams flag.
The bug I was refering to was the simple high speed flag noclip that happens to me (and I think others) occasionally ^^

The bug you guys are talking about is caused by the bug that lets players chain cap without grabbing. I doubt anyone knows what im talking about since I suck at explaining things so heres an example. A heavy is playing HOF on your flag. You have the enemy flag and cap the flag on top of you're HOF's head. This will cause the HOF (I think? its been awhile since ive seen it/done it) to get the flag (or the one who just capped it.) When this happens, the enemy flag visually returns to its stand and it is not visible on a player's back. So, the enemy flag doesnt exist over there other than visually. This means that if this happened accidentally, the person could go on unknowingly still carrying a flag and keeping their team from grabbing. If you find yourself in such a situation you should have everyone on your team either press 5 to see if they have the flag, or kill themselves.

Zhou,
Again, thanks for your help. I agree, most of these are nuisances more than anything. As a result, they are not the highest priority for me. In the scope of things, there is a lot to do, many things which rank much higher. Now, don’t get me wrong, if there is enough desire and time to investigate these issues, I will address them. However, for the time being, it is likely the issues will remain on the backburner for a while. We’ve all dealt with a number of these issues for some time, and none of them really seem to break down the experience at a core level. Regardless, again, thanks for your help. These issues have been noted.
