LT v2 changes
Reply Quote
Hi rapher,

I have just had our LT server updated to v2 and would like to know the changes made from v1 so I can inform our community.
Thanks.

Presume map rotation is set under [tvbp_b4.rapherMapList]

cheers

would you have replied if I said I had created a ModeST server? :P

iir from a thread a while back LTv2 was some small adjustment with the spawn shield time and the new loadout selection menu?

If you suggest to wait for your next release thats cool...

Actually, I just missed the post. Replying just bumped the thread into my not read queue, so I apologize for the delay.

As for LT v2, the primary differences are:

·        Respawn shield modification – The moment you grab a flag, your respawn shield goes away. This makes grabbers who self pass vulnerable as soon as they touch the flag, even if they just spawned.

·        Force fields are back.

·        QuickInv inventory system.

·        Some base assets added/removed for visual flare. (Have no effect on gameplay)

·        Minor bug fixes/tweaks/optimizations.

Obviously, the first two changes are the most impact, but I feel both were solid decisions.

As for ST, it is a variation of LT with the only difference being the loadout. As you could probably guess:

·        ST – Spawn Training

·        LT – Light Training

·        MT – Medium Training

·        HT – Heavy Training

All are essentially the same gametype, with the variation being the loadout. In tvbp_b4, I think I only included ST and LT. Expect to see the others in b5. In fact, since I’m feeling generous, here is the gametypes you will see in b5, along with a few tentative releases:

·        Arena Classic

·        Arena+

·        Ball+

·        Bounty (tentative)

·        Capture and Hold

·        Capture the Flag+

·        Defend and Destroy

·        Default

·        Deathmatch

·        Duel (tentative)

·        Find and Retrieve

·        Fuel+

·        HT

·        Hunters

·        LakRabbit (tentative)

·        LT

·        MT

·        Rabbit+

·        ST

·        Team Deathmatch

·        Team Hunters

·        Team Rabbit

Yes, although it was more of a test leading up to antics v5. If you want, you can consider the antics in tvbp_b4 as antics v4. v3 detects aimbots, v4 corrects aimbotting, v5 prevents aimbotting.

great thx

I'm having trouble getting a map rotation working under tvbp_b4...

I tried using [tvbp_b4.rapherMapList]

Also would the Voting Handler be [tvbp_b4.rapherVotingHandler] ?

If I recall, it is [tvbp_b4.AdvancedMapList]. Also, I did not incorporate a voting handler in b4, so the voting won't work correctly.

ach we have some players encountering a problem where when they go to access the QuickInv menu after binding a key it kicks them from the server. You are most likely aware of this issue already, is there any workaround you know of?

Another minor prob encountered is that only maps that support rabbit mode will work in rotation. Any map that does not is skipped. No biggy.

Yeah, I <3 hunters, and in my opinion, it is shaping up quite nice.

As for a release date, I'm not sure. I've got a lot on my plate and have been very busy of late. I haven't even played tribes except a few select times this year. :(

However, I am still working on this. I actually work on T:V more than I play it.

It has been rather idle around here. While this saddens me, it has been my fault because I haven't released much in a while.

I'll see what I can do. I'll probably give this site a facelift when I get a chance too.

hi

Just make sure you add the admin(f4) game type LT so you can switch maps without being a computer programing genius.

LT1 had this and it worked great.

Now all we do is crash servers cause most people are tards like me when it comes to typing 5000000 character command lines just to switch it to
 Gametype LT
map mp-beml4-emerald

it never failed when it was
hit f4 to open admin panel
 game type click on lt
map---click on map you want to play etc
