Changing the zoom Ret In hud.pkg
|
|
|
|
|
i have been messing with rets(aka crosshair) and i came to the
conclusion that i wanted to change the zoom ret, i just deleted the old
one and imported mine, it works on any server without antics but when i
go on a server with antics ie NxA it wont let me join due to the
hud.pkg where the zoom ret is located. is there a .ini that i need to
edit or am i sol for changing the zoom ret to the same thing i have for
my sniper rife?
Thx,
Rectifyer

If you modified any package file the server verifies, it won't work. You will be SOL. However, if you did not, but it required changes to your .ini, in particular [Gameplay.PlayerCharacterController], try changing them anywhere you see anticsCharacterController or AdvancedCharacterController.

Well, if you haven't modified your ini's for any other server, there would be no point in doing it for an antics enabled server.
However, if you still desire to modify your ini's, take a look at the user.ini file in the Program\Bin folder. There you can adjust things like sniper sensitivity, zoom levels, etc.
Again, the real issue is what files you modified to use your custom reticules. If you modified an existing package, it likely won't work if the server verifies said package. This is not a particular feature of antics, so I can't really help you there. If you are interested in using custom reticules, I'd recommend firing the question over at www.teamwarfare.com as a number of individuals there customize their hud. I could tell you very little about that process.

You can change the ret very easily...
1. First, make your ret in Photoshop/Paint Shop Pro etc. Ensure your file is in powers of 2. Since I run T:V at 1024x768, I will create my ret (named: myZoomRet) at the size of 1024x1024. I would suggest making the ret White so that you can color the ret through the ini that loads it.
2. Then import it into it's own .pkg file. (ie: myRet.pkg)
3. Next, save that package in your Art folder.
4. Now, open your TribesHUD.ini in Notepad. (this is located in your Content\System\ folder) (be sure it's not Read-Only) Search for the key: [default_weaponReticule] Now add or modify the following lines below it: zoomReticuleMaterial=(material=texture'myRet.myZoomRet',drawColor=(R=0,G=225,B=0,A=225),style=1) zoomReticuleWidth=1024 zoomReticuleHeight=1024 zoomReticuleCenterX=512 zoomReticuleCenterY=384
5. Save the TribesHUD.ini and start T:V.
Tada, your ret will work with no problems...
PS: Adjust the RGB to what ever color you want it to be.
